At the time of this blog post, we're sandwiched between releases from two titanic FPS franchises -
Call of Duty and
Halo.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare dropped November 3 (for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows) and
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is scheduled to launch on November 11 (for Xbox One).
Advanced Warfare introduces a new line to the already epic
Call of Duty saga, whereas
The Master Chief Collection hearkens back to Halo's glorious past. While the highlight of the collection is the full remastering of
Halo 2, it can't be discounted that all four titles, which are being dressed up with full-on multi-player access and 60fps, are part of "The Top 30 First-Person Shooters of All-Time, According to pwnRank". Not a bad bang for your buck.
On the flip-side, the last time
Call of Duty launched a series with "Warfare" in the title, one of the most successful trilogies in media history was born.
In either case, we're confident that millions of gamers around the world will have their hands full with either, or both, of these games, sooner or later.
Given the excellent time to be a fan of either franchise, we thought we would pit them against one another in another "According to pwnRank" breakdown.
While
Modern Warfare takes home the hardware for "best game", it's the only
Call of Duty entry in the current pwnRank Top 100. Also,
Halo titles grab the next 4 spots on this list, which is no small feat, considering the other
Call of Duty giants that succeeded
Modern Warfare. Take a look and let us know what you think!
